FROME Leisure Centre could be taken over by a private sector company in the future, if the district council gets its way.
Mendip cabinet members have agreed to a "market testing exercise" to explore whether the private sector would be interested in taking on a medium to long-term lease of the council's leisure facilities across the district.
The decision was made at a meeting of the cabinet earlier this month.
