Frome under water

Today a friend showed me a newspaper cutting from the Frome Standard showing her home. The flood waters were stopping all traffic in that area. She said " I look out of my window and say as motorists drive into the water; "Don't do it!" but they do and they get stuck with the water over the bonnet. Then they get out and the water is so deep."

Having lived near this area, I have been driving around to miss it out.

Here are some pictures as found in the Frome Standard.

Our son lived very near here.

The above pictures are on the map area where the road is badly flooded.

The following pictures are in an unknown area???

There is three to four feet of floodwater at Wallbridge and Blatchbridge after the river Frome burst its banks. Motorists are being advised to avoid both areas. Police and the fire service have put out warning signs closing the roads. It appears only 4x4 vehicles are successfully navigating the flood water and several motorists have had to be rescued after stalling while trying to drive through the flood water. There is also extensive flooding on the Woolverton junction.

Police are advising drivers to look for alternative routes after a number of roads in and around Frome were flooded today.

The A362 Warminster Road has been closed by police and highways staff due to extensive flooding.
